After 3 years of implementing their award winning Managed Alcohol Program, the SJSWC launches a new report to shed light on the need for harm reduction services to be safe and accessible for gender diverse people and women. Ensuring equitable access to critical services through program delivery and policy requires an in-depth understanding of the ways in which gender and substance use interact with stigma, oppression, and violence. This new report is foundational to that understanding.
The SJSWC is home to the only known Managed Alcohol Program (MAP) that solely serves women and gender diverse people and remains the first and only operating MAP in Newfoundland and Labrador.
