The St. John’s Status of Women Council (SJSWC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Bessell as Interim Executive Director. Jennifer will lead the SJSWC/Women’s Centre team effective May 20, 2025, offering continuity of services until such time a new Executive Director will be hired.
The SJSWC would like to acknowledge and thank Lisa Faye for her service as Executive Director. Under her leadership, the SJSWC progressed its mission in many areas, including adapting and inventing programming to meet the needs of our community, speaking up and speaking out against inequality, and creating a community of care and accountability.
